Linnéa Skea
Registered Nutritional Therapist, mBANT
My name is Linnéa Skea, and I'm a Registered Nutritional Therapist (mBANT, CNHC).
Before retraining in nutritional therapy, I worked as a structural engineer in a demanding, stressful environment. For several years, I experienced persistent symptoms, including bloating, fatigue and frequent headaches. I assumed this was just part of everyday life. After all, don't we all feel stressed and tired sometimes? I didn't question whether feeling this way every day was something I simply had to accept.
My interest in nutrition really began when I was diagnosed with candida. This prompted me to look more closely at my diet and lifestyle and the role they might play in how I was feeling. I began making positive changes, moving towards a mainly whole-food diet and reducing my reliance on coffee, tea and sugary foods to get me through the day.
This experience opened my eyes to the connection between nutrition, lifestyle and wellbeing, and sparked a curiosity that eventually led me down a completely new career path. I went on to study nutritional therapy at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, qualifying in 2021.
My background in structural engineering has stayed with me. I bring the same analytical mind, scientific curiosity and desire to understand how things work to my practice today, alongside a holistic, individual and client-centred approach.
I know how overwhelming it can feel to navigate the amount of health and nutrition advice available today. With so much conflicting information, it can be difficult to know what to trust, what is relevant to you and where to begin.
This is one of the reasons I love my work. For me, nutritional therapy isn't simply about sharing information or telling someone what they should eat. It's about taking the time to understand the person behind the symptoms, making sense of their individual circumstances and helping them find a way forward that feels right for them.
My own experience taught me how important it is to feel listened to, understand your options and discover what works for you. It's this belief that continues to shape the way I support my clients.
My approach to nutrition
I believe nutrition should support your life, not take it over.
There is no single diet, supplement or routine that is right for everyone. We all have different needs, preferences, responsibilities and experiences, which is why I take an individual approach to nutritional therapy.
When we work together, I take time to understand your health concerns, medical history, diet, lifestyle and personal goals. Rather than simply handing you a list of foods to eat or avoid, we look at the bigger picture and identify practical steps that make sense for you.
I believe understanding your health is just the beginning. Knowing what might help and putting it into practice are two different things, especially when life is busy or you're already juggling a lot. My role is to help you bridge that gap, with guidance, encouragement and support as you work towards changes that feel manageable and sustainable.
My approach is:
Personalised. Your recommendations are shaped around your individual circumstances, priorities and goals, rather than a one-size-fits-all plan.
Evidence-informed. I draw on my nutritional therapy training and relevant research to help guide our discussions and recommendations, taking your wider health picture into account.
Practical and realistic. Healthy changes need to work around real life — including busy schedules, family meals, work and the days when you simply have less time or energy. We focus on achievable steps rather than trying to change everything at once.
Supportive, not restrictive. My aim is to help you build confidence in your choices and develop a more positive, informed approach to your health, without unnecessary rules, pressure or the expectation of perfection.
Where appropriate, we may explore dietary patterns, digestive health, everyday habits and whether nutritional supplements could be useful. I also recognise the importance of working alongside your GP or other healthcare professionals, and of seeking medical assessment when symptoms need further investigation.
Above all, I want you to feel listened to, understood and supported throughout the process. My aim is for you to leave our work together with more than information: a clearer understanding of your health, greater confidence in your decisions and practical ways to put what you've learned into everyday life.
A little bit more about me
Outside of my work as a nutritional therapist, I'm a mum of two boys and feel very lucky to call the South Devon coast home.
Living by the sea is a big part of what makes me happy. I love a sea swim, getting out on my surfboard, warming up in a sauna afterwards, or heading out for a long coastal walk with the fresh sea air in my lungs. Equally, there's nothing better than coming home, getting cosy by the fire with a good book and slowing down for a while. I'm also a keen reader and love getting lost in a good book whenever I can find a quiet moment.
I love bringing my boys up here, with the beaches, coast paths and outdoors right on our doorstep. Being able to spend time outside, explore our surroundings and enjoy the simple things together is something I really value.
I think these things reflect a lot of what matters to me in my work, too. I value finding a sense of balance, making time for the things that help us feel good and recognising that wellbeing is about more than what we eat.
As a mum myself, I know how easily your own needs can slip to the bottom of the list. Life can be busy, and looking after yourself doesn't always come easily when you're caring for everyone else. That's why I believe supporting your health should feel achievable, not like another thing to get right.
When we work together, I want you to feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are — without judgement, unrealistic expectations or the pressure to get everything right. We can start wherever you are and take things one step at a time.
